HMCPSI is led by Michael Fuller QPM, BA, MBA, LLM, HonLLD, HM Chief Inspector. He reports to the Attorney General and Solicitor General (the Law Officers) who are the chief legal advisers to the Government and are responsible for all crown litigation.
The Inspectorate Management Board oversee the running of HMCPSI and consists of Michael Fuller QPM, BA, MBA, HonLLD – HM Chief Inspector, Sally Hobbs CBE – HM Deputy Chief Inspector (Northern & Wales), Rob Moir – Head of Corporate Services, Anthony Rogers – Head of Inspection Support and Professor Stephen Shute – non-executive Board member.

The work of HMCPSI is set out in its Business Plan and each year HM Chief Inspector presents an annual report to the Attorney General on the work of the Inspectorate.
